Para su 7º disco el excelente y experimentado cantante, pianista, compositor y letrista estadounidense (Cleveland, Ohio, 1946) eligió el formato más intimista para recrear un puñado de los mejores standards de jazz. Y si de "recrear" se trata, nadie mejor que el gran guitarrista mineiro, al que ya recurrió en cuatro de sus discos anteriores (en particular, los dos últimos, "Southern exposure" de 2003, básicamente con un repertorio brasileño, y "Avenue of the Americas" de 2006 fueron considerados entre los mejores CDs de jazz del año en USA).

Un disco acogido con entusiasmo por la crítica especial¡zada de USA. El New York Times lo ha calificado como "exquisito" y definido como "Studies in romance and reverie" (julio 2008).

"Indeed, if lustrous pearls on black couture are the height of understated elegance, then Lellis and Horta are, in combination, the Audrey Hepburn of Latin-fused jazz. They wind their way through 11 standards and three originals with the seductive gentleness of Horta's guitar. The covers are so consistently gorgeous that it is impossible to elevate one above the others, though "Dindi" and "My Romance" on which Lellis sings the English lyrics as Horta counters in Portuguese, are uniquely stunning. As for the originals, two, the grand "An Infinite Love", at once cloud soft and sharply angular as it explores love's limitless magnitude and "Dreamwalking" (sort of a modern-day "Girl From Ipanema" praising a passing and perceivably unattainable goddess) were cowritten by Lellis and Horta. The third, "Three for Marie" (3/4 Marie) is Lellis' own, and cunningly suggests a mellower, more sensuous "Waltz for Debbie"." (JazzTimes Magazine, octubre 2008)
