Ya desde su primer disco, "ELF" (2006), el trio alemán de jazz liderado por el pianista Walter Lang (cuyo nombre ELF corresponde a las iniciales de los apellidos de los componentes de su formación original: Eisenhauer-Lang-Faller), mostró su gusto por la música popular brasileña al incluir en el repertorio dos temas de Milton Nascimento. En su tercer álbum, "Elfland" (2010), recibieron al propio Milton Nascimento (en dos temas) y Marco Lobo (en un tema), como artistas invitados. Justamente en este encuentro con el percusionista bahiano nació la idea de grabar algún dia un "álbum brasileño", que ahora se ve finalmente materializada en el séptimo disco del grupo, cuyo repertorio parte de nuevo del Clube da Esquina mineiro, pero que esta vez tiene a Bahia como foco de atención principal.
