Sinopsis:

En un momento de esplendor (por su creatividad y abundancia), la Música Popular Brasileña llama la atención del resto del Mundo. Este documental, realizado por un director colaborador habitual de la BBC, es una aproximación a sus raíces culturales y sociales. Aunque se trate de una visión somera (nada exaustiva) es expresiva y, aunque no consiga evitar algunos tópicos (se limita a las raíces afrobrasileñas y a su origen en las clases económicamente desfavorecidas) está contada con objetividad, sobriedad y dinamismo. Es suficientemente didáctica para el gran público y, para los conocedores, contiene imágenes inéditas de algunos artistas (por ejemplo, de Batatinha).
