"Carioca is a brilliant guitarist, vocalist and composer known around the globe for his virtuosity and has performed internationally for over 25 years. His intricate rhythms, combined with rich harmony, create the beautiful colors of Brazilian music as interpreted through his extraordinary musical vision.
This unique CD is creative, colorful and engaging. The rhythms and melodies are vibrant and absolutely rich. Carioca is a true artistic genius. His music nourishes the soul and satisfies our aesthetic sense. Carioca has developed a unique versatility and is at home with 6, 8 and 12 string guitars, bass, sitar, harp, synthesizer, kalimba, djembe, caxixi, berimbau, tambora and bongos. Furthermore, he is an exquisite, broad-ranged vocalist.

Carioca began his musical career at the tender age of 7. He embarked on a musical education traveling through many different genres of music to arrive at his current level of musical mastery on guitar, piano and percussion.
At the age of 24, Carioca released his first album Misterios da Amazonia. He then began teaching, touring, arranging (over 30 independent LPs), and composing scores and soundtracks for theatre, dance and cinema.
Due to extensive touring in Europe, he relocated to Switzerland, and together with Ted Barlocher founded the music school Escola de Samba do Apito.
Carioca's expertise in arranging, composing, recording and producing for studios and television gained him notoriety throughout Europe, Australia, Africa and Asia as well as in South, Central and North America.
Since 2000, Carioca has been performing throughout the world and leading workshops in France, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Germany, Canada, the United States and Israel. In 2005 he played to an audience of 12,000 at the Tel Aviv Jazz Festival receiving 5 encores. In 2007 and 2008 has played at the prestigious Yoshi’s Jazz Club in Oakland and at Joe's Pub in New York and at the Dakota, St. Paul."
