Precioso disco brasileño del excelente clarinetista y saxofonista estadounidense de jazz Harvey Wainapel (Ellenville, New York, 1951) abducido por la música popular brasileña desde que la descubrió a finales de los años 70, cuando vivía en la ciudad de Nueva York, como él mismo explica en el libreto.

This was mostly recorded in Brazil, with a couple of more songs recorded in the San Francisco Bay Area, with some of the great Brazilian talent we are blessed to have living here.
Most of these songs have never been recorded before. You will get a panorama of many different Brazilian rhythms and styles, so besides samba (acoustic traditional and electric funky) you will also hear baião, choro, marcha rancho, valsa, and a few that are difficult to classify! Each track features a different group, with formations ranging from piano/clarinet duo to 13-piece horn ensemble...
I’ve been travelling annually to Brazil since 2000, staying around 2 months each visit. Over the years I’ve been fortunate to meet, play with, and befriend some of the most amazing musicians in that amazing country. I’m proud to have performed with Airto Moreira & Flora Purim, Filó Machado, Paulo Bellinati, Guinga, Jovino Santos Neto and many more...
